Global Solutions to Universal Problems

Established in 1989, Genesis Laboratories began as a family-owned small business. The efforts of Genesis scientists have resulted in thousands of projects conducted utilizing hundreds of research models, dozens of EPA registrations, and well over 100 publications in peer reviewed scientific journals. In addition to extensive US-based domestic projects, Genesis has been involved in international research conducted in over 60 countries, including: India, Bangladesh, China, Kazakhstan, Israel, Tunisia, Kenya, South Africa, Tanzania, Morocco, Uruguay, and many others.

We are a full-service wildlife research facility that performs laboratory and field-based projects aimed at mitigating agricultural, environmental, and public health and humanitarian problems. Areas of expertise include, but are not limited to, wildlife biology and ecology, medical entomology, vertebrate pest management, vector control, disease prevention, analytical chemistry, and product development. We place a heavy emphasis on the latter, conducting studies under guidelines outlined by the US EPA, FDA, and international OECD, with the primary aim being to produce data that can be assembled into data packages and submitted in support of federal registration or approval of turnkey products. This process involves intensive data monitoring, record keeping, and quality assurance auditing to ensure study integrity and reproducible results.

In addition to prioritizing study integrity, Genesis is a firm proponent of the ethical treatment of wildlife, having USDA Animal Welfare Act (AWA) certification and Office of Laboratory Animal Welfare (OLAW) assurance as well as a full Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC). All research is overseen by experienced managerial staff and a third-party quality assurance unit, and all Genesis scientists and technicians are highly trained and experienced in the proper care and use of animals.

Genesis has conducted contract research for a variety of clients, ranging from private companies, to NGOs, to state and government agencies, and we strive to serve as a problem-solving resource both domestically and on a global scale. We work closely and openly with clients to provide useful solutions in a timely manner. Hence our slogan: Finding Solutions Now. We publish substantial research in peer-reviewed scientific journals, but do not subscribe to the Publish or Perish proverb. While we see the value in publishing research findings to provide useful contributions to the scientific community, our primary aim is to advance the field by producing novel pest management and public health solutions.
